Venue

The venue of the meeting is the Grand Hotel Union, located in the very heart of Ljubljana. Built in 1905 in Art Nouveau style under the influence of Vienna’s Academy of Fine Arts, for a long time it represented one of the biggest, most elegant and modern hotels in this part of Europe.

In its 120-year long history, it has been an important place of political and social life in Ljubljana. Many famous guests have been hosted here, including Orson Welles, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Dalai Lama, Queen Elizabeth II, King Harald V, and many others.

The Grand Union Café, an essential part of Grand Hotel Union, was a popular meeting place for Slovenian artists and intellectuals.
